While I did indeed do the University route, that wasn't my thing.  My first stab at academia created a Football playing classical musician who played a bit of pro ball in Canada.  Then I moved out of the Liberal dominated Montreal and settled into Conservative Western Canada... as a general contractor.

I was an entrepreneur from 12 years old as I created three different businesses before I finished high school.  In my hippy travels I sold yo-yo's in Paris under the Eiffel Tower when I ran out of money and did tour guiding in French in New York City when I was doing a term in a music school there.

Owning a Construction Company was exciting, I sneaked in a Civil Engineering education at night.  We did lots of high profile projects and I started to be far more interested in what it took to manage my ever increasing work force, raise my daughter on my own and juggle a string of girlfriends as well.

Building a stadium or a building was a breeze compared to all the interpersonal dynamics, the conflicts, my growing daughter, oh, and did I mention the girlfriends?   Challenged to increase my interpersonal skills, in the early 90's I took various academic courses on personal dynamics and psychology and I started to realise that book training in this arena was like trying to learn to play football on a Game-Boy.

I flew to every experiential training program on leadership, conflict resolution, team building and coaching I could find in North America and being the inveterate entrepreneur, I quickly saw a need for men to bring healthier emotion to the workplace and for women to show up more powerfully.  In February 1993 my world changed dramatically when I took a program called The New Warrior Training Adventure.  I knew right then that my time as a construction company owner would end soon.

In 1996 I sold my construction company and have been offering a variety of training and consulting services since then.  I formalized my eclectic and leading edge training at the Coaches Training Institute and found their workshop leadership model extremely engaging.  I finally settled down in 2001 when my daughter went to University, and I found a wonderful gal in Salt Lake City, and have lived there since then and have enjoyed being in a more free enterprise based society.  I have done specialized training in leadership, communication and conflict resolution for Fortune 500 companies and the general public.  I enjoy creating new ways to bring out the best in people.  911 was a monstrous business challenge, over $250,000 worth of contracts were cancelled in the next month.  In the next year my contact database was decimated and companies did no training or hired in-house and soon almost all my contacts were stale, dead, retired or in many cases disappeared into thin air.

I have resisted taking the route of becoming a Tony Robbins type organization, I prefer the more personal workshops of 50 people or less.  The results are demonstrably and dramatically improved.

So while I went to University, I consider my real education to be more of the Street Smarts rather than Book Smarts variety.  I was able to test the effectiveness of leadership techniques on my own company for 5 years and I quickly learned what worked, and what was mostly theoretical mumbo-jumbo.

So I bring all of me to my workshops, the entrepreneur, real life street level business smarts, the artistic nature of a classical musician of my youth, the calculating engineer of my early middle years, the brashness and physical size of a football player as well as the great equalizer;  the father who successfully raised a strong and independent daughter.

I have a passion for creating the stage for people to find the leader within, and to create the pressure cooker that tempers people into knowing they can stand in the fire when they need to.  And my life and training experiences with women in business and my daughter growing up with power and purpose has blessed me with another passion...  To inspire and create the experience for women to step into a cauldron of intensity that leaves them knowing in every cell of their body that they can obliterate that glass ceiling that immature men carefully protect and cultivate.

I look forward to meeting you, to be honored by your choice to trust me.
